Looking back I still don’t remember why I chose Bir but glad I did. I flew to Dharamshala, Himachal and took a cab to go Bir which is approximately 70 Kms from the airport and takes anything around 2 hours to reach. The driver avoided the main highway and took the smaller road that leads to Bir. I could already see the snow clad mountains all around me and feel the winter chill in the air. The smell of mountains around was making me smile all the way as I made some random conversations with the driver.

However, I got stuck in a traffic jam just before reaching Bir and was already questioning my decision of coming here. I decided to leave the cab and started walking towards Bir with my backpack. I kept thanking myself for booking only 2 days in Bir as I passed out for the day.

I woke up early the next day to see the golden mountains as the sun rose from behind. It was sheer magic. The birds were singing, sky was turning into a beautiful canvas and it seemed as if the entire universe was dancing in that very moment. I felt great, as if my super powers were back, smiled and felt the happiness within. I stepped out, had my morning chai and wandered around as the little village woke up and started busltling again. I rented a bicycle for a 2 days and decided to explore it a little deeper.
